Transfer large files quickly

Typical file transfers over TCP/IP -- ftp, http, etc -- all use TCP as the underlying data transfer mechanism. For relatively small files, this approach is superb. Many of the difficulties of negotiating hundreds of thousands of IP packets are taken care of by the protocol itself.

However, that ease of use comes at a cost. The protocol is much chattier than need be if one were to manually manage the data stream. By using a UDP-based approach, circaSpeed sidesteps this problem.

circaSpeed consists of two packages -- a client and a server. The circaSpeed server is transparently compatible with all other Circaware server offerings. However, it is also a standalone product, meaning you can get the transfer speed benefits it offers without purchasing any other products.
